Studio monitor membership
The Studio Monitor Membership is a reduced-cost membership option for artists who want to be more deeply involved in the Red Bird Press community while helping support the day-to-day operations of the studio.
This program is designed as an exchange of access and participation - not employment - and is best suited for artists who are excited to spend regular time in the space and contribute to its upkeep.
Studio MONITOR Member
Our Studio Monitor Members are integral to building connection within our community. We rely on them to lead and inspire others, educate guests and members, and help us keep the shop in order.
Red Bird Press is committed to creating a supportive and transparent environment for artists. This program is one of several ways we aim to keep our space accessible while sustaining the studio.

Key-Holder Membership perks at a reduced monthly rate of $25/month
Opportunity to be part of the studio’s daily operations and community
Priority registration for studio events, classes, and markets
Opportunities to teach workshops/classes in the studio

Studio Monitor Members contribute to the daily operations of Red Bird Press through a consistent, collaborative presence in the studio.
Time Commitment
Approximately 5 hours per week (or ~20 hours per month) of studio support
Hours are scheduled in advance and capped to respect your time
What This Can Look Like
Cleaning and maintaining shared studio spaces (surfaces, floors, trash, etc.)
Organizing tools, materials, and work areas
Assisting with events, workshops, and occasional off-site tabling
Providing a welcoming presence in the studio, including answering questions or offering basic guidance when needed
Supporting general day-to-day operations as they arise
Community Role
Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative studio environment
Work both independently and alongside others as needed
Communicate clearly around scheduling and responsibilities
Experience
Applicants should have prior experience in printmaking and feel comfortable working in a shared studio environment.This program is not intended as an introductory learning experience, but rather for artists who are already familiar with printmaking processes and want to be more actively involved in a studio setting.
Supporting Membership
All Red Bird Press members participate in our Supporting Membership, a one-time annual contribution of $50 (or more). This helps sustain the studio and keep our programs accessible.Studio Hand Members are also part of this broader support system.

HOW TO APPLY
While the Studio Monitor Membership is not an employment position, it does involve contributing to the shared operations of the studio. For that reason, we ask interested artists to complete a short application and participate in a brief conversation with our team.
This process helps ensure that the program is a good mutual fit in terms of availability, communication, and alignment with Red Bird Press’s community values. We are a small, community-driven space, and we approach this process as a way to build a supportive and collaborative environment for everyone involved.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Because we have a limited number of Studio Monitor Membership spots available, we may not always be able to bring on new members right away. If the program is full, we will keep your application on file for up to 6 months and reach out if a spot opens.
We will be in touch if your application is a good fit or when an opening arises.
